EVENT OVERVIEW
  1. What is the Sarawak Energy Isthmus Run?
    The Sarawak Energy Isthmus Run is a premier annual running event organised by Sarawak Energy. Launched in 2013, it returned in 2023 after a three-year pandemic hiatus. The 2025 event marks its 10th edition, a significant milestone. Fully funded by Sarawak Energy, it’s a celebration of fitness, community, and charity, with all registration fees going towards local charities and environmental initiatives in Sarawak.
  2. When and where will the 2025 event take place?
    The event is scheduled for 10 August 2025, at Menara Sarawak Energy, Kuching, Sarawak, coinciding with Kuching City Day celebrations.
  3. Who organizes and supports the event?
    Organised by Sarawak Energy, the event is supported by the Ministry of Utility and Telecommunication and the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Sustainability Sarawak. Evendura Enterprise manages the event.
  4. What is the purpose of the run?
    The run raises funds for charitable organisations in Sarawak, promoting fitness, camaraderie, and community contributions for a sustainable future.

  1. Can I change my name or category after registrations have closed?
    Unfortunately, you will not be able to change your name and category after registrations have closed as we have proceeded to make necessary preparations for the event.
  2. What are the flag off time for each categories?
    • Full marathon, 42km – 1.00 am
    • Half marathon, 21km – 4.00 am
    • Competitive run,10km – 5.45am
    • Fun run, 5km – 6.30am
  3. What is the cut off time for each categories?
    • Full marathon, 42km – 7 hours
    • Half marathon, 21km – 4 hours
    • Competitive run,10km – 2 hours 30 minutes
    • Fun run, 5km – 1 hour 30 minutes
  4. Where will Sarawak Energy Isthmus Run 2025 be held?
    It will be held at Menara Sarawak Energy, The Isthmus, Kuching, Sarawak
  5. Where do I find the race routes?

  6. Will I still get a finisher medal, shirt and certificate if I don’t complete the run within the cut-off time?
    The finisher items are only reserved for registered participants who have completed the race within the cut-off time. These finisher items can only be collected at the finishing line after the race.
  7. Is it necessary to wear the race bib when participating on the event day?
    Yes, it is necessary. The race organiser reserves the right to deny entry of runners into the start pen without valid race bibs.
  8. Are strollers or baby carriers allowed on the event day?
    Strollers or baby carriers are not encouraged, the decision to bring these items along will be at your own responsibility and risk. Our team will not be liable for any incidents or accidents that may occur as a result of bringing these items during the event.
  9. Will a baggage deposit area be provided on the event day?
    There will be a complimentary baggage check-in service provided at the run site for runners to deposit their belongings.
    *Counters will only accept items secured in bag(s). While maximum care and security will be enforced, the Organiser will not be responsible for any lost or damaged items or delay in retrieving the bags. Participants are advised to arrive 1 hour before their start time to deposit their belongings.
  10. What if I am injured during the race?
    Please alert the route marshals or medical responders for medical attention.
  11. How can I access my personal race result and download certificate after the event?
    Participants can check their official results from our run website (www.sarawakenergyisthmusrun.com) 72 hours after event has ended. Official results and ranking are based on the ‘Gun Time’

    ‘Gun Time’ is recorded as soon as the gun is fired and it includes whatever distance you had covered before you actually reach the start line.

    ‘Net Time’ is recorded only when you cross the start line. Race ‘Net Time’ is often shorter than Race ‘Gun Time’ as many runners do not cross the start line until several minutes after the official ‘Gun Time’ has begun.
  12. If I registered for the Full Marathon but decide to run on the Half Marathon instead on race day, can I still get the finisher medal and certificate?
    Participants must complete the run in the category they registered for. Those who failed to do so will not receive their finisher entitlements and their results will be displayed as “DNF” (Did Not Finish) or “DSQ” (Disqualified)
  13. Am I eligible for 2 prizes?
    No. You are allowed to win prize in one category only.
  14. If there are any disputes in the race results, who can I appeal to?
    For prize winners or possible prize winners, disputes and appeals must be made on-the-spot at the technical tent with an appeal fee of RM 50.00 within 30 minutes of the published results on the result notice board on-site or immediately after the prize presentation, whichever is earlier.
  15. What documents are required for winner verification?
    All winners must present their original identification documents, such as Passport and/or Identity Card) for verification purposes. Prizes will only be given to winners who have completed the verification process.
  16. Are there any recommended hotels or accommodation for this event? Will parking spaces be provided close to the flag-off area?
    You may book your accommodation at our hotel partners (refer to the list in our website https://www.sarawakenergyisthmusrun.com/). A shuttle bus service from these hotel partners to the event venue will be provided.

  17. Is there no finisher T-shirt for the 10km category?
    Finisher T-shirts are only available for the 21km half marathon and 42km full marathon categories.
  18. Are there toilets at the event venue?
    Yes, mobile toilets will be provided at the event venue.
